Mars Climate Orbiter (MCO)

The MCO spacecraft experienced a quiet week of cruise operation. The flight spare UHF transceiver in being reinstalled in the MCO simulator after the unit underwent some repairs at the vendor. The remainder of the week will be dedicated to MCO/MPL sequence and UHF testing in preparation for the Entry, Descent & Landing (EDL)/surface transition Operations Readiness Test in conjunction with the MPL simulator next week.

Mars Polar Lander (MPL)

MPL also continues to perform well in cruise. The flight team is completing its preparations for the next test exercise, planned for July 12-15.
