Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) project is the first Mars mission I have had the privilege to work on. I began working on MRO in 2001 as a member of the spacecraft development team. As a systems engineer for MRO I have the opportunity to participate in the development of the spacecraft system with a focus on ensuring that the spacecraft is developed to achieve the specific performance requirements that are driven by the scientific objectives of the mission. A job such as this offers the opportunity to work on detailed technical design studies as well as keeping an overall perspective of how well the complete spacecraft will function as a whole system. My educational background in science and my past job experience in flight hardware design, development, and integration, and system testing, launch vehicle integration, and project level engineering over the past twenty years has given me a good background of experience from which to draw on to contribute to the MRO team effort.
