What advice can you offer to young scientists or engineers?

When I worked under MER Project as a reliability engineer, I was able to practice a lot of technical knowledge I learned from college to perform technical analysis, conduct precise calculation and using circuit simulation tool to aid worst case analysis. It was a good experience that I could appreciate the hard work I put in college and say, "College work was not a waste, it's practical." People said you'll be lucky if you can practice 10% of what you learned from school in real work; my response is you'll be very sorry if you only get 10% of the technical knowledge that the school provided you.
