What portion of this mission interests you the most?

Of course I am focused on the aerobraking phase of the Mars Reconnassaince Orbiter (MRO)mission. But I'm also looking forward to the science generated by MRO: Subsurface radar; looking for water in all three forms; and the highest resolution images ever taken at Mars.

When did you decide you wanted to be in the space industry and how did you go for it?

By the time I was in high school, I knew I wanted to design and develop systems to go to other planets. I wasn't exactly sure what I would do, but I felt my strong interest and success in math and science would lead me to that goal. Even when some people (teachers/guidance counselors) suggested I consider other careers, I felt that aerospace engineering was for me. By staying focused on this goal, studying and working hard, I am achieving it.

Do you have any hobbies?

I enjoy playing softball (can you see the softball in the picture?). Also, as Christmas approaches, I become a maker of candies, cookies, and breads. I enjoy creating all sorts of homemade confections to give away during the Christmas season.
