What advice can you offer to young scientists or engineers?

Try new things, be willing to travel and to explore new fields. Be bold and dont get discouraged if things do not work at first.

What are your personal goals for the future?

Keep supporting space exploration using my skills as a navigator.

What are your dreams for the future of exploration?

A fast interstellar mission that could visit and explore an habitable planet from a nearby star.

What portion of this mission interests you the most?

The challenge of using a fifteen years old, conservative cruise stage design in order to deliver the most up-to-date and advanced rover, Curiosity, to the surface of Mars.

What is the most fascinating thing about your mission?

I think that the vistas that Curiosity is going to find at Gale Crater are going to be spectacular.

Why do you think Mars Exploration is important?

Because it allows to learn about the origins of life in the Earth, and about the possibility of life in other Solar Systems.
