Background Information
I have 19 years experience that spans launch vehicles through spacecraft design. I have worked in industry as an engineer and in academia as a research professor. I started my career with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and then earned an M.S. later while at the Cape. I paused midway through my career to finish my Ph.D., and then taught and did research for 6 years before returning to industry.

Contributions to Mars Exploration

As an Lockheed Martin Astronautics employee, I lead the design of interplanetary spacecraft for our customer the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. My specialties are systems engineering and mission operations which means I am concerned about how the entire spacecraft is designed and operated to accomplish our customer’s mission objectives.
