My mother was a grade school teacher, and my father taught high school Chemistry and Physics. Consequently, education was always a priority in my family. As a senior in high school, I was searching for a direction of study when my father invited Neil Mottinger, a former student and JPL employee, to speak to our class. Neil impressed us all with fascinating mission descriptions and amazing space exploration images. Basically, I walked out of that class with my sights set on JPL. That decision has provided me with the opportunity to explore Uranus, Neptune, Venus, Earth, asteroids Gaspra and Ida, Jupiter, Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, and soon Mars.
