JPL employees show their support for the Opportunity rover's marathon-run on Mars, by running a marathon-length relay of their own on April 9, 2015. About 90 employees took part in the relay, which consisted of 22 (1.2 mile) laps around the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Eight teams of Earthlings took part, with such appropriate names as "Endeavor Crater" and "Eagle Crater", in keeping with milestones and locations in the rover's history on the Red Planet.
