Text Description
Screenshot from the video 'Animation of Three Separate Mars Global Surveyor Orbits' Animation of Three Separate Mars Global Surveyor Orbits
- Release Date: November 23, 2005

Animation of three separate MGS orbits on 2005-04-14. The camera view is in the anti-Sun direction. Each animation covers one complete MGS orbit on that day. All times are UTC spacecraft event time (SCET).

This animation shows a spacecraft flying through space and then flying over the red planet. The background is black with hundreds of white dots representing stars. The spacecraft has two bright blue solar panels that look like wing-like rectangles going straight out of the center of the square body of the spacecraft. The spacecraft has a circular antenna at the top that looks like a round head. The solar panel "wings" and antenna move as the spacecraft orbits the planet.
